Situated next to the hotel, Vienna House is the behind-the-scenes hub of camp life. It's where camp director Paris Ball and her assistants live for the summer. It's where counselors come to soak up some AC. It's an office space, lounge, kitchen and home all wrapped into one building.
Vienna House is, at times, quiet, vacant and cool. But more often than not, the building is alive with the thrum of daily camp life. Counselors and staff stay connected from their posts across the mountain through a network of walkie talkies, so at any time of day you'll hear the exchanges of camp business: a camper in need of Dramamine, a cabin in need of toilet paper, a building in need of wasp removal. Vienna House is also the go-to spot for Internet and phone connections.
In short, it's the administrative headquarters that makes all the fun stuff - the hikes and the games, the bonfires and pool time - a possibility.
